Dear Sinner, Pull Up a Chair.

Dear Sinner,

First of all, welcome. Second of all, if you’re looking for a Christian woman who has her entire life together, you might want to keep scrolling because, sister, that is NOT what you’re getting here. I love Jesus. With my whole heart. But I also overthink, get overwhelmed, lose my patience, cry over things I probably shouldn’t, and occasionally need to repent for what I said in traffic. I’m a work in progress. And I’m willing to bet you are, too. That’s why I started Dear Sinner. I wanted to create a space where women could talk about Jesus without feeling like they needed to clean themselves up before joining the conversation.

Because somewhere along the way, I think a lot of us started confusing being a Christian with looking like the perfect Christian. Perfect church attendance. Perfect prayer life. Perfect attitude. Perfect family. Perfect little highlight reel with a Bible verse in the caption. But what happens when your life doesn’t look like that? What happens when you’re struggling with your faith? When you’ve been hurt by someone in the church? When you know Scripture but still wrestle with anxiety, anger, grief, or disappointment?

You’re still welcome at the table.

Romans 3:23 reminds us that we’ve all fallen short of God’s glory. Every single one of us. And that’s exactly why we need Jesus. Not because we’re already good enough, but because He is. Now, don’t misunderstand me. Grace isn’t permission to stay the same. Jesus loves us enough to meet us right where we are, but He also loves us enough to change our hearts. And sometimes that process is messy. Really messy. Over the next few weeks, we’re going to talk about the things Christians don’t always say out loud. Church hurt. Comparison. The pressure to look okay when you’re anything but okay. The difference between knowing about Jesus and actually walking with Him. We’re going to laugh a little, probably cry a little, and open our Bibles together. And in December, we’ll begin a conversation I’m calling Holy Mess. I’m not telling you everything about that one just yet. But I’ll say this: if you’ve ever looked at your life and wondered how God could possibly use someone as imperfect as you, I think you’ll want to stick around.

One more thing. You do not have to purchase a single piece of snail mail to belong here. The blog is free. The conversation is free. The invitation is open. Whether you’re a lifelong believer, someone trying to find your way back to church, or someone who isn’t even sure what you believe right now, you’re welcome to pull up a chair. We don’t have to pretend we’re perfect. We just have to be willing to let Jesus work on us.

With love, a little sass, and a whole lot of grace, Signed, A Sinner 💋

Let’s talk: What’s one thing you wish more Christian women were honest about?

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”

Romans 3:23–24 (KJV)
